TEEN TROOP SUPPORTER AND SINGER TEAM UP TO THANK TROOPS

Shauna Fleming, the teen founder of the A Million Thanks organization that has sent close to 4 million thank you letters to U.S. troops and singer/songwriter Brad Avery of the three time Grammy winning, contemporary Christian band THIRD DAY, have teamed up with the release of Brad’s new song, “Thank You”. Avery wrote the song with his friend, Scott Thomas.

“Thank You” is a stirring anthem written from the perspective of someone back home, writing a letter of gratitude to a soldier fighting somewhere across the globe. The song shares a common focus with Fleming’s charitable campaign, A Million Thanks.org.

The inspiration for “Thank You” began at an airport when Scott Thomas met a soldier who was departing for Fallujah after a two week visit with his family in the U.S. After a moving conversation, Scott felt led to reach out in some way, but didn't know what to do. With all of the negative news coverage of the war, none of which focused on our soldiers and their sacrifice, he decided to write a song to show his gratitude. With help from his good friend, Brad Avery, they put their thoughts and feelings to music.

“We also hope to incite others to express their thanks verbally and through random acts of kindness to soldiers and their families,” shares Avery.

When Shauna heard “Thank You,” she loved it and decided to make it the A Million Thanks campaign’s theme song.

“Thank You’ is exactly what the A Million Thanks organization is all about,” Fleming says. “The song lyrics match what Americans say in the millions of thank you letters that we have received and distributed to the troops around the world. We pray for them, and we want to thank them, she added.”

Half of the Internet orders for the song will be donated by Avery to Fleming’s newly formed non-profit called Wounded Soldiers Wish, with the other half going to another of Avery’s favorite charities. Wounded Soldiers Wish will grant wishes of soldiers injured in the War on terrorism.

Fleming and Avery’s band Third Day, will be appearing together at several locations around the country including the upcoming, “FISHFEST” at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater on July 28 in Irvine, Ca.

The song is available for listening or purchase on the A Million Thanks web site at www.aMillionThanks.org. Information on Wounded Soldiers Wish can be found at the web site as well. # # #
